Thanks for this nice teaser!

Nice lookin' knife. Not TOO flashy, but certainly attractive. It looks good and solid, and you can't go wrong with that. Anyone else notice that this collaboration actually somewhat resembles its custom counterpart??? What a great idea! ACHEM!

Very nice. I just wish the Kershaw kept the big bolster like on the custom. It`s just a little plain looking without it. The G-10 looks too flat and slab-like. I like the polished G-10 on the Random Task better. Ken`s designs usually have nice curvey lines to them. The plain, flat G-10 scales look out of place on the Kershaw. I think a bolster would made the Kershaw a much more esthetically pleasing piece.

None of the above will keep me from buying one, however......

Roger - blade length is 3 1/8 inches. Nice size for daily carry IMO.

ROBB - yes, the 1570 does have the Speed Safe mechanism. The action is spot on with this one. Probably the nicest Onion design Kershaw has doen so far.

I heard rumors about Kershaw going to give up on CPM-440V. I'm glad that this is not true. Way to go Kershaw and Ken!

Ken`s customs are fantastic, but be prepared to spend some big bucks! I`m really glad Kershaw is able to offer some of his designs in an affordable way. Now, if Kershaw would just update their website more than once every other year.......!!!!

If it's stupid but works, then it isn't stupid!

Dexter,

thanks for the picture. Would it be possible to see the other side (with clip) as well?

David1967 - I will scan the clip side of the knife later on. It carries tip down.

I have a couple more questions:

When can we expect it?

Will it be made also with satin finish?

WOW!,

Turn my back for a few weeks and look at what I miss. Sorry for my absence been traveling.

The Kershaw Avilanche is just the anniversary knife minus 470.00 . We had such a great response with it we decided to trim out all the fat and offer 440V,G10 and speed safe at a 130.00 suggested ,I'm sure it will be available for much less than that from your friendly neighborhood knife shop.
As for the custom model of the Avilanche,I usually discontinue a knife Kershaw is making because it is not necessary for me to compete with myself ,This allows me to focus on new ideas concepts and designs.

Hope I answered everything. Thanks for all the Positive support guys I appreciate all of you . It was a great to meet some of you at the Shot show and Vegas classic . I look forward to meeting more of you guys/girls in person some day .

Aloha!!! Ken Onion

It's a great looking knife but I am afraid of buying one. I have had terrible luck with expensive speed safe Kershaws. Only the Blackout and Whirlwind were trouble free. Even my Riccochet has noticeable vertical play. More importantly none of my Random Tasks or my Riccochet can pass a spine wack test. In all fairness, I returned my Mini Task when the scales loosened and it has been a gem ever since. I just can't understand how the less expensive knives can be so much more solid than the top of the line models.
