New Kershaw and ZT catalogs (2011)

Thanks for the link. :D

A quick search for VG-10 through the catalog yields nothing

There are 14C28N ,8Cr13MoV and AUS-6A blades though.

Is the 1750 Lahar (VG-10) officially discontinued?

I don't know what you mean?

Oops..i meant to say 2007 and 2009 catalogs. For some reason I thought i had a 2010 catalog. I felt the layout of the 2007 and 2009 catalogs (hard-copy) to be outstanding, especially the embossed knives on the front cover of the 2007. The pictures taken looked like time and detail were put into it. Seeing knives on a white background in the current catalog looked like it was step down from the previous. Maybe i'm nit-picking, or maybe i was expecting better.

The ZT0301 is still in production. Keep pinching those pennies, it's worth it (I currently own 3).

Thank you!! I definitely pondered on that decision for a good long time (200+ is a lotta coin for a blade) and finally decided I needed to get one, seems like everyone who's had one and sold it regrets it, and since I love recurves and have no real issue with weight it's a must have!!

Please excuse my ignorance. I've seen ZT knives mentioned a lot but don't remember any mention of their quality. I like the look of the knives I've seen so far and am considering getting a ZT. Not looking at a particular model yet. Are they durable, good quality, etc.? My needs would include EDC and a work environment (around the house chores up to and including carpentry). Any advice or info is appreciated.

Thank you,
Jack

Yes! The quality, durability, F&F, etc. of ZTs are all excellent. You can basically think of them as overbuilt Kershaws.

They stack up with knives costing twice as much.

Sharp-One

Yes we did put more emphasis into the artsy images, and a layout that was more esthetically advanced in those former catalogs.

Being that these are dealer catalogs (we have consumer brochures that are sent to the public) we opted on a very basic direct approach. This was mostly done as a result of input we received from our dealers and representatives. They had found that although visually pleasing, the former catalogs were difficult to navigate, and ultimately frustrating. These 2011 dealer catalogs were driven intentionally to be easy for the dealer when trolling for information. These catalogs are tools for the dealers, and the positive feedback we’ve received is that they’ve been an asset for their intended purpose. We had lost that focus in years past.

Hope that helps with perspective.

Ah, that makes sense now that these catalogs were strictly for dealer purposes.
