NEW kershaw fails on me

While a new Kershaw shouldn't break, and I'm sure they will make things better for you, It might help put things in context if you describe how you "deployed" the knife, LETHALBLADES . Did you just open it or was it some wrist flicky thing?

I used the Flipper with no wrist flick

If you want a Kershaw flipper on bearings for cheap, try a Kershaw Strobe.

Great knife for under 40 bucks.

I've got one way older than that as well as a BOA; both working fine and neither made in China.
I have a Tremor that was my EDC for years. Ive never broken a torsion bar and my speedsafe knives that have seen extensive use are a Tremor, Thermite, Blur, cryo, and 0770CF. It seems hit or miss with the torsion bar but people don't go making threads every time they hit 40,000 flips without one breaking. One thing I don't think has anything to do with it is country of origin.

Edit: It seems youre just talking about general quality rather than torsion bars. Either way, my Chinese Kershaw have been just as reliable as my US ones but obviously the fit and finish as well as materials aren't on par with the US ones.

This. My Thermite and Cryo have performed just as well for me as my Blur and Leek.

I have a Chive from 2001 that's been opened thousands of times. It's got the original torsion bar but I bet the size of the blade has kept the Torsion bar springy, less mass to push etc

I recently owned a Knockout and it was a great knife except for the speedsafe and the fact you can't deassist it. Speedsafe is just something I'll never warm up to.

Sorry if I hit a nerve. Just saying....

You can deassist anything. You just need to create a detent hole.
