New Kershaw models for 2016

So when they sold out of the shops that carried them, they...weren't actually being sold, they were just, what, walking out of the shop?

That's not quite what happened. They slowly trickled out and were being bought up before more inventory could be sent. After the initial hit and miss in finding them they got the kinks worked out and the stock was replenished... all to just sit there after the initial 6 months. Not quite the story you are making it out to be.

KAI isn't dumb, if it does make money they aren't going to stop selling just to piss off those who couldn't find them initially.

If it doesn't sell, it gets discontinued and they move on to the next idea. Simple as that.

Lots of companies discontinue models that sell fine, then bring them back later on. The Echelon was hard to find pretty much from the day it was released.

If you think Kershaw is going to bring it back, don't let me stand in your way. I personally won't be holding my breath.

Looking forward to a couple of new Kershaw folders: Induction and Launch 4.

Induction is like a reincarnation of the Kershaw RAM with 3.1" blade, manual flipper and Hawk Lock!

Some people, including me, have some of these small automatics (blade length has to be under 2 inches for it be legal in California). They're fun, useful and light (under 2 ounces) watch pocket knives. I have a bunch of Protech Runt and Sprint automatics with aluminum handles (some with inlays), S35VN or 154CM and made in the USA.

The new Kershaw Launch 4 7500BLK should fit right in since they're about the same size, aluminum handle, CPM-154 and made in the USA. The Launch 4 is about $25-$35 less than a comparable Protech.

funny how people like to complain about Kershaw's Chinese offerings, while many of the same have several Chinese Kershaws, Benchmades, Esee's and more (Using the exact same steel). I would love for all the new offerings to be USA made, but the buying public is made of cheapskates looking for a deal. The trend over the past several years has been Chinese Kershaw offerings and USA made ZT offerings. To say Kershaw is diluting their brand is to be ignorant to not only how business trends lean, but to your own place in the chain. Forumites are the minority, whine all you want...its true. Frankly I think this years crop of Kershaws represent one of the biggest steps forward they have taken in years. Unique designs, established designers, industry leading warranty and service in a wide range of prices. They are trying new concepts....integrated prybar (due to the amount of dumbasses sending in broken blades I'm certain), more USA made autos to match the trend of stated repealing switchblade laws, and all shapes and sizes. The other companies are still spewing out more of the same...not taking many chances (though not taking heat either). If your criticism of the company is based in a move to Chinese production...take a look aroud your house and see how few things are US made, why holdKershaw accountable when the trend is the fault of the consumer?

Of course the haters are just gonna call me a KAI fanboy (Guilty), and that's fine....but you wont likely see me on another thread meant to discuss enthusiasm over their new releases taking a crap on their products.

BTW, the refrence Faux g10 simply refers to the texturing on the handle being similar to the g10 "factory" textures (as stated in Shot show videos). The handles are still FRN/Zytel...same as has been used by most every company for years.

Excellent post, I'm with Rival.
