I went out on saturday to cut some firewood with my dad, and after we felled the 80' dead tree we had alot of brush around it in the woods we needed to clear to be able to cut it into sections and load in the truck. The WWII did a good job on branches and small thorny weeds, and an amazing job on 1-2" trees that were in the way. With a little pressure pushing the tree it only took 1 or 2 chops to get through them. My dad was amazed at how well the khukri did. It was much faster than his loppers that he had brought along.
After it was all said and done the khukri had a good workout, been chopped into the mud (it was just above freezing) more times than I wanted, and while it was duller than when I started it still had enough of an edge to keep working. There was only a couple small dings in the edge that will come out with a quick sharpening, and I cant even get them to show in a picture.
As you can see the patina wore off from the area that saw the most use. This is exactly what I was looking for, the shininess is mostly gone and looks like an old well used tool
which it definitely will be, this is the perfect using size.
