New Kid on the Block!

If you do get a knife, try the SOG Sculptura, its very small and sheeple friendly; I would say its as much a tool as a sak... the blades only 2” long, but cuts well. It will handle most everyday task… Believe me, I don’t get any looks or anything, I take it everywhere, the only time I sometimes receive a question…is when I use it and someone ask the silly question…”what do you use that for?!”…Right when I’m about to open a package or something… As far as owning goes, just as long as you keep it at home, you can have all the sharp and pointy things your hear desires… but for an edc… I advice to just carry the smallest knife you like, and carry that… if you behave yourself, don’t take it to school… don’t whip it out to impress people… and only use it when you need it… you’d be fine…you could also carry a multitool, or sak as already suggested… I hope that helps… :D

It's nice to see some youths with smarts and potential. Like the saying goes: "Keep the company of good men, and you shall increase their number."

I guess that means you'll have to stay away from me.:D

Welcome to the forums. I'm only 17, so join the club! About the law...Listen to Phill, LOL. :D And, robbed 3X?? Well I think you need to buy yourself a nice knife soon!;) (and for any "PC" people reading this...No, I'm not endorsing the killing of thugs...although maybe I should?:p ;) )

Welcome GarageBoy, act respectful and responsible and no one here will flame you:rolleyes: :D , just kiddin', there are alot of great, knowledgeable people here. Lots of Collectors, Makers, and Production Mnfgs hang here, there's alot of talent in any aspect of the knife community available for advice, there are even some funny people out there. :D

:D Using a knife to ward off attackers here will only cause me to end up in the emergency room, or possibly in a hearse

Smart attitude! Not that I endorse pacifistic behavior, but unless you really know your stuff, you probably will just get hurt worse. You're better off being intelligent and alive than as a dead Rambo wannabe. That and attempting to avoid such lowlifes.

You are going to do fine, GarageBoy. I've seen quite a few fellows your age that had a lot more sense than some adults. I have a couple of youngsters, one 9 and the other 16, that visit here, and I'm sure they are going to be good knifemakers someday. A young person knowing he has yet to learn is already a smart person, son. Welcome to the Forum, GarageBoy.
