New King of the WTF? Hill

That knife always looked like ergonomic nightmare.
Why not just small fixed blade? Faster, more reliable and no gimmicks.

kind of look steam punkish to me. visually appealing on some level to me.

don't get the soft steel though

Not sure about anything regarding that. Even the name.

A steer is a castrated bull. Not sure what that says about the knife....

Yep.... and now that I think about it, the name itself is impossible. Bulls are only castrated while in captivity, so steers would not exist in the wild... so a wild steer is an oxymoron.

Anything else we can pick apart, and take super literally? lol

Well, i figure le french have set global fashion trends
with their own pecuiar sense of styling and design.
I m just not to famiiar with their cutlery besides Opinel and Laguiole knives.
However, there must be more to french cutery besides ther renown classic countryside folders.
Who knows, widsteer might be more than just some passing fad french brand.
Given the diverse range of outdoors knife users they appear to cater for...

I'm not seeing much similarity to wild steers neither, and do have some experience in that regard.

I think what happened was someone was asked to look for a sensible, minimalist French folding knife, and he came back from seeing these guys and said, "Nah, that was a wild steer. Their stuff looks like it comes out of a Marvel comic. We need to keep looking."

And the name stuck.

They kinda make the Mutilator look like a normal EDC knife. It also looks like it would do battle and destroy everything in you pocket and as Nick Shabazz would say "That doesnt give me joy"
