New Kit Coming In!

I like the look of that pack, and a sleeping bad that goes into the minuses is allways handy. Nice find for sure.

cool looking pack... you can't go wrong with those NF bags either... i know lots of folks that have them and love em'...

great deals on both of those...

Very nice stuff, great pack, I'm a big fan of JanSport. I started all my outdoors stuff with one of their external frame packs, still have it. It's just a 'ready to rock' as ever and has seen some very rough use. Have another frameless top loader that I use more often and is also a great pack.

Anyway, some good buys there.

Nice pack though a little loud for my tastes. The cat's meow is a great bag. Personaly I prefer to use a +20 rated bag and use secondary insulation (poncho liners from wiggy's) to extend it's usefulness into four seasons.

Wildmike and Doc:

A LITTLE loud? That thing will light me up like a French whorehouse! I think you have to be secure in your manhood to carry that thing! ;)

I bought it because of its high rating and the fact that it was SO very cheap for what I could get. I was VERY happy about the price - and the fact it fits me (I am 6' 5").

Not a bad sleeping bag but for that much money (or maybe just a tad more) you could have gotten a Marathon 300 down bag from Mountain Equipment. It weights half as much, keeps its loft longer, can wash it as many times as you want (as long as you use detergent-free soaps like the ones from Nikwax) and packs as small as a 1l SIGG water bottle.

If you are going to use it in wet conditions or very humid places for long periods of time, then it is a great sleeping bag.

Excellent deal on that pack!! Give us a short review when you get your hands on it.

I've had my North Face Blue Kazoo (down) for almost 15 years...still love that bag and my wife uses it now. They make great bags and I know you'll be happy and warm with that selection!

ROCK6

Mikel,

I currently live in Texas - the chances of 'No Humidity' are slim to none. I went with something a little heavier as I don't NEED that much of a bag and the extra weight (on a former Marine who is used to carrying Army Guys like Rock6 ;) ) no big deal. Also, unless I am reading things wrong - I am talking 150 dollars - and you are talking 150 pounds - I wish the exchange rate was that good!

p.s. See how that works Rock? - I am in for four years - am all fat and out of shape and think I can talk shit. Marines - no wonder they call us Jar Heads. ;)
