Got my KMG today and it is certainly a well built unit and I can see I will have no worrysa about it. Now to get my 2hp motor mounted with a step pulley set up.

Yur hooked for good now:D Congrats on the new tool.

That KMG is usless and dangerous to boot..Do the smart thing and ship it to me for disposal and I will send you a nice 1X42 instead !!!:D :D

Stupid question....I posted earlier with a question or two about KMGs (thinking about getting one)....how do ya hook the dern things up to your motor???? I know this ain't rocket science, but I'll bet the KMG folks out there have some methods of connecting the motor that my feeble mind has not thought of....how about posting a pic or two as to the best ways to accomplish this? It seem that it would take up considerably more space to do this than just the space that the KMG takes up, so to speak.

I appreciate your help.

Here is how I attached my motor. The farthest hole back is a stock hole for mounting the kmg base. The one about 3 inches forward is one I drilled and tapped to 1/2"nc. The attachment piece I added is 3/8" plate made to fit the corner and hang over the back of the base plate a bit. Welded to that it a piece of 3/4" round stock/ The actual motor plate is a 6"x12" piece or 1/4" plate welded to a 6" piece of 3/4" sch 40 pipe. The end of the round stock is beveled a bit to help it start in the pipe. The motors own wieght is enough and I can slide the motor sideways enough to use any pulley combination I want. 2hp and can't stall it with a 120 grit 72" belt. (one of the few 72" I have) Have an order of 72" belts coming from Klingspor. Complement to Jonh Williams to really take the time to explain some stuff to me and help me make up a good belt order.
