So my knife has been carrying the smallest Kershaw I think I’ve ever seen for a while now. Well she needed it this morning and it just didn’t do the job due to its small stature. Looking at maybe a pm2 with decent Steele just need it to be corrosion resistant as her purse is not sanitary station numero uno. So anything tool steel is out. She simply won’t clean it, so I’m leaning towards s30v or s45vn I’m a pm2? What do you think

If she is a tiny knife person maybe a delica in vg10 with Boomer scales? 2-7/8" so not huge not to small. Won't take up a lot of purse space and vg10 takes a lot to make it rust. Sounds like she doesn't need bombproof just a little more.

Dragonfly 2 or Baby Banter, maybe. My wife loves her Chive, if your wife likes flippers.

Purple/Blue Baby Banter is a hit with my wife. This is her preference over a Victorinox Pioneer X, Opinel No. 8, pink PM2, pink Native 5, purple Delica, mint Delica wharncliffe, Kizer splinter, Benchmade 530, and a GiantMouse Blue G-10 Iona.

My wife is quite happy with her Salt. It's a barn knife, not a purse dweller, so extreme corrosion resistance was a must.

Chaparral, Delica (my wife loves hers), PM3. Be careful with the PM2. Miss use the tip and it will bend/break on you.

I keep a supply of Opinel 9 to give mine, as she has a tendency to lose them.

They cut so well and sharpen so easy she has no issue in getting them sharp again with a kitchen steel.

I think the PM3 in S45VN is a better choice, but for something more affordable a Delica in VG-10 would be good for half the price. I have both, and mostly carry the PM3 (one in S45VN and the other in S110V) if I'm carrying a Spyderco. And the compression lock or back lock are harder for her to cut herself when closing the knife vs a liner lock. The back lock on the Delica needs stronger fingers though.

Mine totes the Chaparral Lightweight somewhere in her bottomless pit of a purse, and a Victorionox paring knife in a ZuluBravo kydex when shes out & about

If it's getting bounced around in a purse I would suggest a lockback design. Pink S30V Delica or Native?

Why don't you just let her handle a few of yours and decide which handle and blade size/shape she feels comfortable with? No matter how sharp knives are, they will never be scalpels. Exerting a certain amount of force is always required to cut tough stuff, so if she cannot grab correctly the handle, the type of steel will not make any difference.
