New knife for the wife?

Ask her what she wants and let that influence your decision or be prepared to be disappointed in her response to your gift. It's valuable real estate in those purses and knives don't always make the cut.. haha there's not a woman in my life I've been able to convince to carry any knife larger than a Ladybug or Vic Classic in their purse..

I just got a Manix 2 lw bd1n and she handled it a bunch yesterday, we were cleaning out the basement lots of cardboard. And to my surprise she liked it so that’s what we are going with. She likes the lock action and how light it is. So that’s what we are running with for now.

With how well I've broken in my Para 3, I would not feel so bad anymore if my wife wanted my Manix 2 (Purple G-10 in S110V).

But she refuses to take any of my knives, "why do I need one?" she says. She just cuts things open with a key. I can't imagine not having a knife on me, with as much as I need one each day. My daughter loves her pink Mini Griptilian with Spydie hole, but my other daughter is like, "Meh".

Funny. I was thinking, it's all about preference, in hand. Someone mentioned the Boomer52 delica and Someone mentioned, feel in hand.

My 13yr old daughter has a collection of Purple Spyderco's.
VG10 Ladybug
VG10 Dragonfly
M390 Delica w/Boomer52 scales
2x Para 3 (Maxamet g10 and S90v teal LW(only not purple one))
Cruwear PM2 (her favorite)

I have the purple g10 Manix scales, for this Christmas. Lol.. Might be my DLC 52100, swapped.

Swp321 Swp321 The manix would probably make my wife's list too, though she took one of my benchmades. Her criteria was:
* 3" (about) blade
* slicey (she's using it to cut, not batton)
* easy to clean (stainless and something that you can run water over to get the gunk off in the field)
* locking
* easy to open and close with wet hands. One handed wasn't required, but stiff knives wer not ok
* When opening or closeing, the fingers shouldn't be in front of the blade. (so no liner locks or frame locks)

I think that's a pretty good checklist for most people. I was going to try and get her something cheaper, so if it gets lost she doesn't feel bad, but ... given what I spend on knives and how well she treats her equipment, I don't mind.

winnerone23 winnerone23 I think I would like to be your daughter.

I can't agree more with the idea of giving her a tour of your collection to see what she thinks would suit her. Hey! I'd love it if someone bought me a knife... but I would like it even more if I got to pick it out for myself.
