Hello there I have a few questions
1. If I buy a crafstman 2×42 belt sander how do I go about sanding metal and wood. Are the different belts to buy... And is this grinder suitable for entry level knive making.
2. Could someone please give me a list of all there shop tools and equipment they use in knive making and other small metal working projects including forging. Thanks!!!

Also I have seen people using a belt sander wearing mask which names slip my mind currently but is the certain cartridges for them specifically for wood/metal dust or do they just wear them for conditions like asthma

You can use as little tools as files and sandpaper all the way to milling machines and waterjets. Read the stickies at the top of the page and fill out your profile. You may be near a maker that would give you a shop tour and some pointers. Also, always wear a respirator when grinding wood or metal. Too much exposer is bad for your lungs. The 2x42 is a good entry level grinder.
