Today my friend (who is new to the knife community) decided to get a knife for the first time but needs help deciding. The only criterion is that it is under $30, folding, under 3 1/2 inch blade and One hand opener/one hand closing operation. Thanks for recommendations in advance.

Ontario RAT folder is pretty good for that budget unsure on the blade length of the knife though

Always liked the Kershaw Ken Onion Scallion, or one of the bigger or smaller in that category. Leek, chive, etc. Mine has lasted YEARS!

Kershaw guy Blem! Get a knife worth more than his budget for less than his cap...

Welcome to the forum!
You do realize that BFF is the gateway drug to a knife addiction. You'll start with a nice little $ 30 folder and eventually you'll be buying Sebenzas, Busses, and if you become really hardore, customs too

Don't say you weren't warned ;)

He said budget. Can't think of many $30 knives, and not corner-store knives. Never tried a RAT. More than 30, CRKT m16
