So the other day at work I was day dreaming of simple designs for the outdoors. I like the idea of Cold Steel's Bushman but I wanted something that fit me better. Here is what I came up with :) It is 11in overall with a 6in blade. I used .200 thick 5160 for the blade and left the mill scale on the flats. The bevels are flat ground(both sides). A simple para cord wrap completes the handle. I like the shape of the handle as it is comfortable and helps to keep the cord in place by being wide at both ends of the grip. I was not trying to make a "perfect" field knife but I want to offer a very simple, tough, and inexpensive blade. I really like how this one feels.

I think it looks great! Nice, simple, with great lines and looks very functional.

I like the looks of that a LOT.
it reminds me more of the CS True Flight thrower than the Bushman, only with a wide enough handle to use in the field.

Looks very nice. Before you sell them you should have one tested at a independent lab.:) PM me for the address.

Awesome. Would love to see one with natural or green micarta scales.

Adding scales would deviate too much from the concept though. Although when I was working on this one I kept visualizing walnut slabs on the blank. For now though I am going to keep it simple with just a wrap. If someone wished to add slabs themselves, the tang is not hardened so it would make a cool project piece :)

depending on price point, I could be very interested in one or 2 of these.

Excellence thru simplicity

Reminds me of a puukko
The bevels are flat ground(both sides), could that be a scandi grind?

Not Scandi ground. Just a simple flat with a secondary sharpened bevel.

Beautiful lines.
Looks to have all the features of a good camp knife.
If it was mine, I would double wrap or triple wrap the handle w/ paracord and soak it in some epoxy or something.
Let us know when you sort out the details.

Nice and simple, good clean lines. I'd prefer it with a full height flat or convexed grind but that's just a personal choice.

I like simple, functional and no frills designs. I like this a lot. Nice blade
