New knife - "SzaszMuk"

Somebody, somewhere, somehow got it right. Dude it is awesome!

That is a wonderful knife, so clean and well made.

When you have some pictures of it in your hand or working I would appreciate seeing those. Woudl also like to see the Sheath.

Thanks for sharing!

VERY nice knife ikkyo! Thanks for the show!

The only Hungarian knife I have is this Szankovits I picked up in ~2002:

Yes, that's one of the traditional Hungarian folder designs.
Tibor Szankovits is a well known knife maker in Hungary.

The szaszmuk is a good knife.

My new Szasza knife (Szabolcs Szántó Hungarian knife maker)
The name of the knife: Tövis (Thorn)
Lenght of the blade: 110mm
Thickness: 4.6mm
Handle: 120mm
Steel:Böhler N678

The handle is black G10 with red liners.

Perfect bushcraft & hunting knife.

what a great little blade.

The next time I am in Hungary, I'll try and pre order one of these if possible. Should be over visiting in Buda and Bercel again next summer. A friend owns one of the little castles in Bercel.

Being from there, you'd think I might have a Hungarian knife but no...

Years ago a cousin of mine was bringing one for me(a nice stag handled hunter from what I was told). When he arrived and was unpacking, it(along with a couple of other gifts) seemed to have gone missing from his checked baggage - damn dishonest airline workers. This was 20 years ago, so I guess I can't blame the TSA for that one - lol. You have sparked my interest in this maker though.

WOW!
That IS a beauty.
Not much in knives turns my head anymore, as I am quite satisfied with the knives I have, but that one really gets my attention.

Nice. You'll have to let us know how it performs, since most of us are not familiar with N678. It looks like an interesting alloy - just enough Cr to be barely stainless, and a boatload of V for a simple alloy.
