Hey everyone, long time lurker and occasional exchange participant, first time thread maker. There's a lot, A LOT of knives out there, no doubt about it, and I've always got something on the radar. I decided to go ahead and look for my next sharp, pointy, precious toy and found that I kept drawing a blank as to what I wanted to get. I literally cannot think of one knife that stands out to me and it's really blowing my mind.

Soooo I decided to turn to you guys and let you bombard this post with your "would be" next knife picks. Be it for yourself, or just a recommendation of something that you already have in your own collection. I need ideas and you might jog my memory of something that got lost in the pit of my memory.

Now there are no real guidelines, all I ask is that it be something that you can edc and carry with no problem. So anything fixed or folding, let's sayyyy no more than 5 inches of blade length. Thanks again for anyone that jumps in here and let's see what we can throw out!

I don't know what you own or are specifically interested in.
The delica consistently falls into my pocket.
Also a manix 2 is great too.

Here's an assortment of great knives that have one thing or another to love them for:

I always see the Delicas in different steels and one day might grab one. When I first got into quality knives I carried a Spyderco Endura almost exclusively. So much so that it's got the most wear on any knife I own. I like that version you have!

Nice assortment there! I want something from Olamic and Piranha eventually, they both have great designs and some that fit my aesthetic.

Just to offer a little clarification or help, im not new to the community and I have a pretty refined palette for pieces. I hate being a knife snob but let's face it there's only so much time you can be in love with this hobby before you only want the finer things lol. So, we can go big here, skip the "budget" or "entry level" pieces. Crank it up and have fun. (Although I won't turn down a piece packed with value)

Olamic gives you so many options to customize it's crazy. Piranha makes nice knives at great prices. I wasn't super into out-the-side autos, but after @The Aflac Duck kept posting pictures of his Piranha X I had to have one and I'm glad I bought it. IMO it's a goldilocks sort of thing, not too small, not too big, just right, and the knife feels great in use. Handle is just big enough, blade shape is fantastic, and the thing never gets in the way of what you're trying to do with it.

Yeah I've visited Olamic's website a few times and the amount of variations and customization they put into their knives is beyond my imagination. I love what those guys are doing over there and even though their designs wouldn't normally be my first pick I do still find them very attractive honestly.

One thing that stuck Piranha in my mind was how all their blades are polished to that high finish. I've always thought it was interesting that they did that and they all look so classy and cool because of it. I think the two I went back and forth on were the X and the DNA. I dont have any autos either but I've been debating a lot lately on getting into them because they're so dang fun.

My Spyderco K2 is the only EDC knife I have that if lost or no longer serviceable, I would replace it immediately with another no questions asked.

I wouldn’t mind. Shaman CruCarta but I honestly don’t believe the current price is justified.
I really like some of the Koenig Arius but IMO it’s too nice for and EDC work knife and the price is again more than I’m willing to pay right now.

To better serve you, what do you already have what’s your style.

My first thought is "Why didn't they make the lanyard hole a box-end wrench?" Come on. It's called a "wrench knife."

...and you can’t think of anyway that could go horribly wrong? I see you pushing on a stuck bolt it breaks free, you not only smash your knuckles, but cut them off too.

OP, you should put a deposit on a nice Randall. Made to your specific tastes.

...not-owned, but would love to get:
fixed: carothers edc in delta 3v
folding: cheburkov russkiy

the grail I own, which prevents me from splurging on the above list:
spydy gb2 with cpm-m4

A CPK is absolutely on my list for next purchase. I have been drooling over them since sometime last year and I finally got their sale schedule down and this Friday I'm hoping to be able to snag one. That's just a bonus though, since they're not readily available.

That folder is new to me but just looking it up I actually think it's pretty damn sweet! I'll have to look more into them.

I'm a fan of the K2, but I never gave it much thought after I saw the Slysz Bowie years ago. Then of course, it was discontinued right after I made my way into the world of knives. The same with the ZT 0560, that's another one that I will snag if I find it in the wild.

I want a Shaman one of these days. I regret not getting one when they were released and at a lower price, but I may hold out until I can find a sprint at a price good enough to make a deal on.

The Kpenig Arius is one of those that I put put there at "mid-grail" status. One day I'll have one but like you, it's definitely out of my range at the moment, and I'd feel horrible beating up such a beautiful piece of work.

As for what I have already, I used to tend to be more attracted towards "traditional" designs. A lot of drop point blades and neutral handles. As I've gotten more and more into design and using knives I really have expanded my spectrum and im trying to open myself up to a more variety of knives. Anything you can think of is worth consideration because I never know what is going to grab me unexpectedly. I know that doesn't help, but I am a complicated man sometimes lol

Here's a sleeper. The updated Viper Belone in all titanium. Excellent EDC.

Or the larger Swiss made Klotzli Swiss Border Guard.

I actually handled one of those Vipers at a show here a few months back. It was realllyyyy tempting and I really like it. I ended up leaving that place with a ZT 0308. I really like bigger knives to carry. I also really like thin slicey knives. I don't like to limit myself to just one or the other because I've been surprised both ways by amazing pieces lol

A Randall is a dream piece for me. That's not a bad idea at all, I guess I just always thought of it as not being realistic for me to have one lol Everyone should have one though, so full of history and absolutely beautiful classic blades.

That’s why I mentioned it. When I reached the point you are at now. Nothing obvious to buy, have all I need. Time to order a Randall. They are running about a 5 year wait. Worth the wait.

I wished I had done it earlier.
