Couldn't help myself with all the reading about using a knife to baton and split wood. I thought it was pricey at 70.00 but has a very thick blade. I guess Becker was bought out by Kabar. Any comments on this knife as a bush knife. Convex the edge? Any comments appreciated. Beefy 5 inch blade

Please continue to support Ka-bar and the Becker line. They're making good knives from all accounts I've heard, and your purchase feeds American families :) I recently ordered a new Becker Necker just for the heck of it.

*to be fair, the sheaths are made overseas. But all the Beckers except the san mai model are made in USA. I can deal with that.

Bob I was doing the same thing and someone corrected me today on that. Here are my two Camillus BK-2s with the pass around KA-BAR BK-2. The stock Camillus has a convex edge and it was like that when I got it from safetyman. Doug

I really like the looks of the BK2. After I recover from my recent knife and pack buying spree (black Fallkniven A1 and Mystery Ranch NICE pack frame), I plan to get a BK2 and BK11. I'll be pleased if the BK2 comes with a convex edge. I hate adding them to coated blades... they end up looking kind of ugly. :)

Stay sharp,

My BK2 came with a convex edge, I bought it used, although the convex edge works rather well.
