So I posted a similar knife a while ago. Most thoughts where the handle need to be fixed here and there. So, finished this one and tweeked the handle scales.

Edges of the scalloping are softened, the butt is contoured, overall very much more comfortable.

1095, 5/32" thick at the ricasso, thermal cycled in my digital oven. Coyote g10 handles, leather done by me as well.

What you guys think now?

Looks great! My only nit-pick is that although I think the sheath looks fantastic, the knife would look more appropriate in a Kydex sheath. But, my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it! Really nice job.

Thanks guys. I forgot to add that it has satin spine/edges (you can see them in the pics).

Yeah, you are not the only person to point that out. I don't like kydex. It roughs up the finish and just feels cheap to me. It has its place though. I like leather work (I don't know how to do kydex, yet), so I make leather sheaths.

I like the knife overall. Finishing looks pretty good. For me the scales would have to have more eased edges (slightly rounded). Not much but enough to ensure there would be no hot spots during use. Love the look. Great job on the sheath as well. Jess

I have one more that is just kinda sitting around with green g10 scales. Maybe just maybe I will drastically round the edges.

Looks great! I too think it would look better with a kdex sheath, but I love what you did with the leather and am a fan of leather sheaths. Awesome work.

I love the knife I don't even mind the scales not being rounded off. I love the sheath as well looks awesome just not with this knife. if you can do leather work that nice, kydex will be no problem for you Imo.

I cant say that I have ever seen any such pics. I really like the way yours look. if they feel ok in the hand and you like them. I would probably leave them the way they are.

Wow weatherman, that looks fantastic. Love what you did with the scales/butt.

Is the blade coated? I also really dig the satin edges around the tang and spine. I did similar, masking the tang and spine, but used acid for the rest. Yours looks far nicer.

The blade is cerakoted dark earth/earth brown, one or the other. I sanded the spine/edges with the handle to get the santin edges.

C'est tres magnifique.

Very nicely done. Hope you don't mind if I copy the tooling on the sheath...
