get a Umnumzaan, I have both the 21, 25, Zaan, Striders, Hinderers, Microtech, I would go for the Zaan or Large 25

If I had $500 to spend on a knife right now, I would probably get one of Spartan's new Harsey Folders.
Or Spartan's Harsey Hunter or Difensa.

They are all so nice, but I can't bring myself to pay that much for any of them new except for in hypotheticals.

A micarta insingo 21 Sebenza is nice if you haven't tried one yet. As for myself, my eyes are locked on to a Hinderer XM-18 bowie or a CKF Morrf in M390.

I vote Sebenza but I like the 25 more than the 21, so I vote Sebenza 25

Checkout the Knifemakers forum. I personally would go with J. Hoover. But there are many great Knifemakers there.

I'd buy a gun and a cheaper knife. If 500 bucks is nothing to you, it's a fine dress knife and excels at cutting threads off the inside of one's suits. The materials are fine, workmanship fine, investment value, superb; if you take care of it you can sell it for close to what you paid, or even more. I think there are custom knives out there that are far more beautiful and made of better materials, but Sebbies scratch an itch that other knives don't touch, and thank heaven I've never suffered from it!
