New Knife

Here's my advice. Since you are unfamiliar with different locks, and etc. I'd suggest the following:

1) Kabar Dozier master hunter for $20, surprisingly good knife that will serve you well for quite a while. And a SPyderco sharpmaker $40 or so. Practice sharpening when dull.

2) Hang around and learn here for a few months.

3) Buy a midrange knife, probably sprderco somewhere between $45 and $75.

4) Hang around and read a few more months

5) The maybe consider if you need a military or benchmade. Personally I'd say buy a Ritter Grip at this point.

somehow it makes me feel better that i was indeed right that this guy was a retarded troll right from the start. i can't believe i actually apologized to this guy

what a douche

hmmm, I didn't know that. Maybe a thread in community about "origins of words not to be used".

Seriously, it is good to know. That way you can explain to your kids when they ask you what it means.

although in general you shouldn't be using the word anyways ;)

i mean, i do on occasion. my laptop screenname is "gookwagon". but I can do it in good humor due to me actually being asian :)

Vinny, best thing is to go to a knife store and play with them all. No words can really describe everything about the way a knife feels in the hand. But if you want opinions I'll give you mine...the Benchmade axis lock is the easiest and fastest lock to use. I can almost guarentee you will like it. This is especially true for a lefty like myself.

I wrote some thoughts down but then decided I'm done with this guy. Advice on knives is not what he needs.
