Made for me by knifemaker Wes Whipple of Kodiak, Alaska. I received his permission to post his contact info, but out of respect just email me and I will send it to you.

Knife is a stick tang, which is all he does unless requested.

The tang goes almost a full 4 inches into the handle and is epoxied.

Flat grind. The very edge is slightly convex right into a wire edge that is honed off before final stropping.

Walnut handle and bronze guard. 52100 steel.

The leather sheath has a wood liner.

It is razor sharp and feels great in the hand!

Sorry about the crummy pictures :)

Mmmm... Sexy!

I like the slight hint of a nesmuk style blade. Very nice lines, gawd dang that's a beautiful knife! Care to share the lengths? blade, overall, and handle.

Thanks for sharing!

4 1/2 inches from tip to guard, just about 4 3/4 inches from guard to butt end. so that makes it...hmm... 9 1/4 overall. He calls this his Chinook knife.

mneedham, if my Becker ever needs a good home you'll be the one I call!

After reading the write up in Tactical knives about Wes Whipple and his knives I'd say you have got yourself a winner, they say the edge retention is incredible !!!

Yep. Good eyes! I have both arms just about covered with Asian style tattoos; lots of color!

Thanks all for the comments about the knife. I haven't used it outdoors yet, but will give a report when I do, along with pics. Maybe when the snow melts....we got 6-8 inches yesterday!

What a beauty! I've also read the Tac. Knives article too and how a similar 52100 blade held its edge even after so many cuts and shavings. I also happen to like the blade shape of that knife; an "almost wharncliffe" point with an ample belly.

That looks like a sweet blade bro!!

sweet knife, looks like it should handle about anything that needs doing. I like the sheath also.
