... OK, so these aren't real knives and there is no maker called Burt Zowada (or at least I don't think there is)!

When I can't afford knives I like to pretend, heres some pretending I did early last year. I tried to imagine what a set of integrals would look like if we morphed Burt Foster and Tim Zowada together :D :D

Heres what I came up with! Its just a bit of fun really, I thought abount having them made but other things got in the way, but things may change hopefully ... hope Burt and Tim aren't too offended!

Don't know which I like better; the knives or the images

Both are outstanding.....

No dough, they would put a dent in the old pocketbook $$$ :D :D

I would like the small one. I think it's a hunter. To bad they are not real. But you never know about Burt. Stephen have a great new year. L.B.

As we have departed form reality, I would have insisted on frame handles and ivory scales.

Wow, you've got an eye for design. Those are lovely. I like the bottom one best, and the blade shape at least is very similar to Burt's. I suspect that the most difficult aspect of those knives would be the carved turnback on the bolsters. I think you can only do that with a rotating carver. The only such example I have seen was on a dagger by Nick Wheeler.

If you ever locate this Burt Zowada character, please let me be the first to know!

sweet...if i had the imaginary $$$ i would buy the whole set. really cool looking knives. maybe a collaboration can turn those babies into reality. ;)

I don't see the Zowada filiation, personaly. I do see the Burt Foster's influence.

Tim Zowada's influence is in the recurve plunge that takes the collar and spine into the blade ...... he is only make I have seen doing this in his integrals.

Ah, I see. I'm not familiar enough with his work. Here's an example from his site:
