Just got two new knives from Fallkniven, an F1 and a WM1. I've read so many good reviews of these knives that I just had to try them. Just at first glance, I'm very impressed. Both knives were sharp out of the box, would shave easily. Fit and finish is excellent, and I like the rubberized grips. Many people have complained about the small grip on the F1 (the only negative thing I've ever read about the knife), but I find it to be just about perfect, and I wear a size large glove. It's a heftier knife than I had expected, good weight, strong feeling. The WM1 is just nifty, for want of a better description; perfect size for cleaning small critters. The sheaths aren't anything great, but they are functional and light-weight. I'd prefex fitted kydex, and I might have some made eventually, but these will work just fine. I got the VG10 steel; Knifeworks had the 3G models, but I couldn't see spending the extra money on them. Overall, I'm very impressed with both knives. Thanks to all the people here who helped me pick them.

I don't have enough knowledge to give you a definitive answer to the steel thing, but everything I read before buying indicates that it holds an edge quite a bit longer IF YOU CAN SHARPEN IT! It's harder than the D2 in my Doziers and they are the very Devil to sharpen if they get dull. Most people seemed so satisfied with VG10 that I didn't see any point to paying more for the 3G.
