New Knives on web page

You would post this after I have blown my knife budget for a long time to come.

Is it my imagination or does this one look extra special. http://www.centercross.com/Current/sr13.jpg

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between a scale release and and a kick spring scale release?

I think I am going to have to see if my knife budget can be epanded.

Did anyone check out the specials they are offering in the "available" sections?

OK
Scale release is kind of hard to explain in words. At the end of the knife, one side of the handle can be moved slightly by your ring finger to release the locking mechanism (modified lockback design). In the case of an automatic knife, the same flick of the finger releases and swings the blade into an open and locked position. On manual scale release knives you just roll the blade out with the thumb bob to the open/locked position. Either case, moving the back again releases the blade to fold back up with your index (front) finger. An auto will snap locked when shut. A manual pulls the blade to the final closed position.
Now for the kick spring/coil spring thing. I make both. I started with a new coil design that was adjustable from the outside of the knife. I also came up with a double front adjustable coil spring model with a spring on each side of the blade.
All my autos were coils. I now offer a kick (or leaf) spring design. It makes a thinner knife too.
Scale release is a modified lockback design where a slight movement in the rear of the knife releases the locking mechanism. A hidden (or covert) release that works great on manuals or autos.
I'm working on a wind-up (auto-optional) spring design. And Ken Cox challenged me with a design that I can actually visualize now.

SR13 is a special knife. I had a lot of fun making it. I had a lot of fun and took a lot of time to make it.

And Bo - I look forward to creating one for you. I'll be around a while.
