I bought a knife I have wanted or maybe five years, a Hinderer XM-18 with a Bowie blade. I have not bought a knife this expensive since 2002 or so. I really love the way it feels. It really is built like a tank. I will confess that I feel a little urge for another Hinderer, but I know that could wreck my budget. Another knife I just bought is a Boker Select Slack. It is what I think Benchmade's Proper should be. What I really love about the Slack is that it has a proper backspring. It not only takes two hands to open, it takes two hands to close. I really like a stiff backspring of a slipjoint because I do not want sharp blade closing on me. I will say that the Slack's opening and closing gets much easier with only a drop or two of oil.

I will post pictures when I pay my dues again in the very near future.
