Dan Koster has built a name for himself among the outdoor/Bushcraft knife community. His knives are built with use in mind and have been refined overtime based on customer and user input. We have his Bushcraft knife, his take on a Mora style Puukko knife. This fixed blade is a big jump from a Mora in materials and construction though! Made from .170" thick CPM 3V, some of the toughest blade steel out there, that has been fully flat ground and satin finish for amazing slicing ability the, the Koster Bushcraft knife is peerless in it's quality.
The blades are heated to 59-60 HRc for optimal edge retention while the inherent toughness of 3V makes for worry free batoning. 3V, while non-stainless, still has a relatively high amount of Chromium which, along with proper maintenance, helps to prevent corrosion. The handles are made from blasted canvas micarta or G10 giving a full, solid grip with plenty of texture for use in wet conditions.
If you are looking for a Bushcraft knife that is tough enough to baton, has the edge retention for field dressing game, is easy to sharpen in the field, and is a pleasure to use then look no further than the Koster Bushcraft knife. Custom made in Bentonville, Arkansas, USA. Available now at GPKnives.com.
