New Leather! WTF / WTH Piggyback Open Spine by PirtleMade!!! (Very Pic Heavy)

Thanks everyone! :D This rig is just unbelievable!!! I practically giggle every time I look at it, and can't help but think, "Dayuuuuuuummm" every time I pick it up!  :D

You're set!

But I gotta admit, my mom's appliances were that exact shade of green in the 70's --even down to the texturing< I think it was called "Fingerprint Proof" touchable textures> and even the black tinting, too-- UNCANNY how similar...oh the flashbacks!

...she had matching Formica countertops too...so I've had my fill of guac green for a couple lifetimes, but that's just me!

Lol!!! Sometimes it's funny what will trigger memories like that. Sorry! :p

Beautiful rig, not to mention it looks like a very versatile and well thought out setup albeit you may need to upgrade your belt now :D

Looks like you could carry it baldric style as well

Congrats to you and Chad

Nah, that belt I'm wearing is a 1.5" x 1/4" thick bullhide gun belt with pressed pattern (adds stiffness) from Beltman. It will do the job just fine! ;)

Also, I do have one of Chad's Baldric-style carry rigs he made me for my BGAK, and I did have that in mind. The carabiner snaps into the clip without issue (though you have to open the gate on the carabiner to get it into the Baldric, as the spring clip on the Baldric is slightly too small for the carabiner to fit through.) I'll try to get a pic wearing it like that later this week.

GORGEOUS!!!!

And, the winner of the most heavy duty dangler ever imagined by Hog kind!!!! ;) --

Haha, you may just be right.  :D

I don't know how you don't fall over, that is a lot of steel. Are you able to reach the smaller knife when it dangles so low?

wow! gonna need to lock myself in the bathroom an pretend I'm taking a bath to view that WTF sheath...total knife porn..

Lol, I'm a big guy (6'2" 250#). Yes, I can reach it. It's actually at just the perfect height to reach it with my arm comfortably down at my side.

SP: Thanks for the amazing review and write up, I am thrilled you are so happy with the rig. Love seeing it on it's new home turf.

Thanks to everyone else as well, really appreciate all of the positive comments!

Damn Green was named that because that's how I referred to it every time I'd talk to SP, the name just stuck. It was custom blended from tan, teal, orange and kelly green because no one makes OD Green leather dye. It is incredibly cranky with regard to base leather color and leather density, and never applies the same way twice. It also looks crazy blotchy in pictures. Damn green is suitable name for it! I am down to only a couple of ounces which will be reserved for SP's next project then it's gone forever.

I'm going to miss it because while it's a PITA to work with I love the rich rustic look it has in the end.

PTPO: LOL on the green fridge reference, we had one of those too and I think the blender to match!

Here are my personal DG Trail Scalpel & Boss Street rigs that I'll carry as a tribute to the life and times of Damn Green.

Hey Chad, thanks for posting! Love the commentary on the damn green. :D It does have a nice look to it in person, which is difficult to capture in the photographs. I suspect it will only look better with age.

I'll have to update pictures in a few years after these sheaths have seen some usage and earned some character. :D

Not to take away from any of the other great makers on this forum, but that is a sweet set up. We are truly blessed with some of the best makers in the business on this forum. We got some of the finest Kydex and leatherworkers around. Thank you all for your support and fine work. That's a work of art I got to say. I bet your all prancing around with that 20 pounds of INFI hanging off your belt. looking cool

So you picked some theme music to play while you walking with that on? Something like that deserves background theme music lol. and shades

Oh Lord, I can see it. Double checking all the straps and making sure she is ready to go, flip on the music and....lets roll. I honestly have tears in my eyes from laughing. Thank you, made my day with that one.

First one that popped into my head. Seemed pretty fitting too, trains and all. You got one part wrong though...

At the first call "Allll aboooard" is when the WTF slips into the sheath (think of the video cutting to that action). Then the snaps close on the various sound effects (Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay...).

The "walk" then starts in sync with the guitar riff. :D :D :D

You know you are going to be singing that in your head now every time you put that on. Your right, that fits a bit better with the song. I see that exact scene in a movie or something or maybe like the Walking Dead, they find that knife and rig and as the hero picks up the whole rig, queue your below text. Fits perfect.

What a great rig! I have been trying to email Chad but it won't go through is there any other emails or phone # to reach him for an order?

Weird, my account is hosted with Office 365 and I don't have any filters on. Sorry you are having trouble. You can try chad.pirtle@experient-inc.com, that's my work address. I am admittedly a couple of days behind on email & IM replies, but I think they are all people I have already been talking to. My leatherworking address is chad@pirtlemade.com if you want to confirm you don't have a typo.

Thanks!

Love the green trim, and the workmanship...

If 64 ounces can work, it makes me feel better about what I carry...
