New Leatherman Hunting Knives

I saw on the internet that Tim Leatherman personally strangles a puppy every time a Leatherman multitool is sold. When I found this out, I tossed all my Leatherman products in the garbage. I don't care how good they are, until Leatherman changes his ways, I'll never buy another Leatherman product.

I'm with you, shecky! There's just too many unstrangled kittens roaming around for this Leatherman kook to waste his time on the pups.

This thread has become absurd. These are knives not politics. I could understand if Leatherman supported anti american policies or something, but Democrats are every bit as American as conservative Republicans. Get off your high horses and learn a little openmindedness and acceptance, people.

J85909266, you sound like some kind of puppy lover. :p

(Actually, I agree with your post 100%)

As a non american can someone please inform me as to just what you are objecting to in the statement Tim Leatherman put his signature to - or am I missing the secret communist code cleverly disguised in the text?

There is nothing wrong with the statement Mr.Leatherman signed. The two party government system here divides the country in two, especially in times like these, and people get silly. They sling mud at anything that has the opposite party's stamp on it (be it conservative or liberal), whether there's anything to actually object to or not. People will be people.

Here you go.

Senators John Kerry and John Edwards share our values and goals.

If by "our" they mean their granola-eating, forest locking, gun hating, holier-than-thou, customers, they are right. Their values and goals are pretty much un-American in that the tradition in this country is both the recreational and extractive use of the land. The yuppies that most of these companies sell to, (and LM should have known better as he sells most of his tools unabashed construction types, not latte sipping metrosexuals) do not recognize dual use as the proper role of "public" lands because they think they are the only public that matters.

They make their cities next to unihabitable, and in their spare time attempt, through advocating for their recreational hobbies, to ensure that the only rural economy available revolves around the low cost servicing of their big city weekend and vacation pursuits.

So they ban, like they did in Oregon, hunting cougars and bears using dogs, and then bitch everytime a big cat is staring at them from a tree or they hear a bear outside of the tent at 5AM. They agitate for roadless areas so that logging never again has the chance to spoil their views, but then they bitch about the price of wood products. In a word, they SUCK.

It's not so much that they are "communists." It is that they are something far, far, worse for which no catchy word in English has yet been coined.
