NEW Leatherman tread

Neat idea, but I won't be buying one. I love most all things Leatherman, but that just doesn't seem practical to me.

I believe the kids call stuff like this "bling." I'd wear one if you gave it to me ...... but I certainly won't be buying one.

Having had to forgo carrying my accustomed pocket knife while traveling by air I do appreciate Leatherman's attempt at making a multi-tool that I can carry past the TSA and onto a plane.

Neat idea.. Not sure if I will buy one though.. I have SUPER skinny wrists!! Wait to see what those that do have to say!! John

A bunch more useful than a normal watchband, but not for me at that price point. If I regularly wore suits or dress clothing that made carrying a normal MT difficult or impossible I might spend the money, though.

More useful than a parachord bracelet which I don't wear but which seem astonishingly popular among some.

I found the video on this to be rather funny. The president talks about not being able to bring his Charge into Disney World which motivated him to make this bracelet. What?

How about offering a few mid and full sized MTs with no knife blades?

How about a TSA compliant Juice?

Until then, Mr. Leatherman, let me introduce you to Mr. Dremmel.

I agree. It would be nice to have the a couple sizes (juice, ps4 wave) have the option of blade or no blade. It also should decrease the price since you wouldn't have to pay for higher end blade steel. They could also use the knife slot for another useful tool.

I don't think I could bring myself to use a dremmel just to get rid of the blade on my multi tools :)

They did offer the knifeless fuse as it was supposed to have been certified TSA okay. Then the rules were changed a lot of folks lost them. Not leatherman's fault, but it means that they are less likely to bother with any sort of TSA cert again, so they must be pretty confident they won't outlaw tools in general, or make us all fly naked.

it's a very neat/creative/original idea. Sadly for the $200 the BO version will MSRP at I won't be buying one. I also suspect it'll pinch arm hair, and the whole shenanigans about it being TSA compliant seems like BS. It's got a cutting surface. For $150 i'll buy a Charge TTi.

What do you all think of the new wearable tool bracelet (tread) by leatherman. I personally feel that the price point is not equal to the quality of the tool especially since it is made out of stainless steel. If they offered it for less than $80 I would be much more interested. What do you guys think.

Never. Not at any price. Who but a Leatherman fanboy/geek would even think of wearing this? (If you are of that category, no offense is intended :foot::o ;):D.) This smacks of desperation; throw it against the wall and see if it sticks? Ik!

I feel like that kind of refusal is even more of a fashion/identity statement than wearing one is. ;)

Looks totally stupid to me, because no one will ever want or need a torx bit at Disneyworld. I put it right up there with those goofy paracord bracelets that guys wear in case they have to construct a primitive survival shelter on the way to Walmart. Sorry, paracord bracelet wearers. Leatherman should focus its attention on producing a real bladeless multitool like the discontinued knifeless Fuse, instead of goofy man-jewelry.

The Leatherman Tread supposedly was the brainchild of LM President Ben Rivera, who got turned away from Disneyland because of his MT. If this guy had any brains, he would have kept his MT in his pocket unseen and he would have been just fine.

Sorry, Leatherman, but this is just one more thing like skateboard and oxygen tank wrenches that no one will ever buy or use. Stick with MTs please. Like maybe a Juice lineup with a real blade instead of those politically correct peewee blades, or flat drivers that don't make you bleed every time you deploy them. Or a Rebar with scissors. Or . . . .

The one with the watch would be a maybe if it were in the $150-$200 range. But for $600, that is a definite no.

I'll stick to my watches and multi tools.

 I couldn't agree more. :D

Looks pretty silly to me. I'm guessing these will sell mostly to folks who want a piece of jewelry rather than a tool. Pretty expensive for a stainless steel wrist decoration though...

It is a bit silly, but I can see myself owning one. Thing is, when was the last big game changer in multi-tools? everything is a variation on the PST. They have tried with the flat-bar tools, and for some specialist purposes those are probably alright. Maybe it will stay, maybe it wont, it sure is original.

I agree, you are probably not going to need a set of screwdrivers at a theme park, or even the supermarket. But what about on a college campus, or other places where tools are a bit more restricted? and since when has probably not needing something ever stopped one of us from carrying something? Isn't being prepared for stupidly unlikely situations kinda the point. But yes, its silly. that's sure never stopped me though.
