I just picked one up the other day- I have already found it "indispesable." How did I survive previously? :-) Now off to find something to tinker with...

My friends used to ask me why I carried a Leatherman PST with me everywhere, until they found themselves borrowing it frequently.

(I switched to the Wave when it came out, though sometimes I carry both.)

I also bought a Wave just a few months ago. I love it!! The handle is VERY comfy and I really like everything about the Wave. However, if I could change one thing on it, I would make it so the tools didn't clump (like the Swiss Tool). I like that I can open the blades with one hand, and I really like the liner locks. Is that the best file you've ever seen or what? I will never forget how impressed I was with the file when I first saw it. Hope you all like yours as much as I like mine!

I have a Wave now, which is replacing my Supertool. The only thing the Wave lost is the ruler. But it gained so much more, a scissor and one hand opeining blades. I'm very happy with the Wave.

The only thing the Supertool had over the wave is the knife blades. I feel the old ones were superior. They were thicker and I just felt more secure with them.

I have both, if I could redesign to my specs, I'd add the scissors, the file and one hand opening to the Swisstool. Those features are what I like about the Wave, otherwise, the Swisstool is #1 for me.

I just bought the wave last month also and like it a great deal. I took a nick out of my finger when I opened it I don't know if it was on the blade or the hole inthe blade. But I like it any way and still have a hard time decideing if I want to carry the super tool or the wave or both. Heavy on the pants with all the other stuff I carry I can never get away light does any one else have that problem?

In response to your post, you are right about the blades on the Wave and the Supertool. Although I always carry a serrated Delica, so I like the serrated sheepsfoot on the Wave to have a choice between the two styles.

I always carry a plain edge folder (usually an Ascent 830, or Endura) and serrated Delica anyway, which are better for my cutting purposes and easier to access than the Wave, so I don't find myself using the blades on the Wave too much. It's nice to know they're there (the Wave blades) for backup though.

Brian: You're right about the Swiss Tool. If I hadn't bought the Wave, I would have gotten the Swiss Tool. Sometimes, it's so hard to choose what to buy, that you just pick one assuming that they are both so great, you can't go wrong either way!
