Bud talked about this in the Hartsfield thread. Being as Lightfoot is not Hartsfield
I thought I would start this thread.

To Bud, thanks for mentioning the knife and yes I received my Knives Illustrated last Friday. Thank you for the offer to replace the Magazine. As usual an excellent issue.

The Mini-Hammer differs from the Hammer only in blade length. The Mini-Hammer has a 4" blade and is double ground.

Interest in tacticalfixed blades seemed to start picking up a year or so ago. I think there were 3 reasons for this:

1)People who already owned numerous tactical folders were looking for something new on the tactical side of the house.

2)Users realized that a folding knife cannot replace a fixed blade in all instances. So many started to buy tactical fixed blades as a "compliment" piece to the folders.

3)Some find that you can actually deploy a fixed blade faster than a folder.

With these factors in mind, I asked Greg to make exclusively for me the Mini-Hammer. It's 4" blade, at this point, seems to be the optimal length for everyday carry.

Additionally, Greg and I came up with the C-4 and the Neck Razor.

The C-4 comes in two configurations the first has a 3 1/4" length X 1" wide blade, BG-42, double ground blade. This a smaller version of the Mini-Hammer. The other configuration is a right hand side grind, Tanto style blade.

Both come in a kydex sheath made by Greg.

The Neck Razor has a 3 1/4" length X 3/4" wide, is double ground, Hammer style blade.
The overall lenght is 7" and the overall length of the C-4 is 7 1/2".

The Neck Razor is a substantial neck knife. What else would expect from Greg.

In addition to this Greg and I are collobrating on a large Camp Type Knife. This should be out in the fall.

Please feel free to email me OFFLINE if you desire pricing info or delivery times.

Les, glad to see that collaboration, Greg is a great guy and he produces one of the most ergonomically friendly fighters in the predator. I like the looks of both the C-4 and the mini hammer.

I've been eyeballing the Neck Razor for awhile now, Les. The handle appears to taper towards the blade. Can you tell how it feels in the hand? Thanks.

Les,

I looked at the new knives (FBs) on your site by Greg and gotta ask: what's with the holes at the top of the blade near the spine on the new models? Are they actually holes all the way through the blade? What is their purpose?

THanks,

Waldo

Hi Donavan,

The knife keeps its thickness all the way to the end. However, it is rounded to help you have a better feel and to reduce some weight.

Hi Waldo,

Because of the speed that can be generated by the rapid movement of this knife. It was necessary, for aerodynamic reasons, to include the holes. This allows the movement of air of a cross wind type to flow through the knife. This stablizes the blade and reduceds fatigue on the users hand and forearm muscles. There by negating the negative effect one feels while the body is producing lactic acid.

Ok, they are just for looks!

I briefly had the Neck Razor and Mini-hammer. They are both excellent knives that I will own again. I just needed some cash to pick up some other must haves.

The only criticisms I have are mainly with the Mini-Hammer. The finger groove seems to be a little cramped. I have small hands, but when I held the knife so the index finger was in there, it was not comfortable. I think part of this may have been due to the edges on the g-10. They could have been relieved a little more. When I choked up and used the choil for the index finger, it felt great. It is also has a sweet feel in reverse grip.

I liked the Neck Razor a lot. I think I would prefer to see the thickness of the handle slimmed down a little and a little more width or height (I guess it depends on how you look at it) added.

Les, do you think Greg might be open to these suggestions?

Les, you had me going for a few seconds there! I thought to myself "He can' t be serious!"
