New Limited Edition Domino

I guess what my original post was trying to say was that I have no reservations about quality of foreign Spydercos. I just hope they all come home to Colorado some day. But again, I'm a pretty ignorant idealist so face palm away.

Fair enough, I have no problems with buying used. My argument was that Spyderco using Japan and Taiwan to make great knives and expand their production capacity and line-up is what actually puts the money in their pockets to build a bigger factory in Colorado. Thus employing more Americans and increasing the production output. As long as the home company is American, you do a good thing to buy the product. Maybe some companies would just keep outsourcing and reducing their production on US soil, but Spyderco isn't like that. They are growing and I'm pretty excited about what will be coming out of Golden in the future.

i buy made in USA because the product is superior, or atleast at such a point that I want my money staying int he country for a slight difference in quality. However, plenty of other countries make plenty of awesome products and I will buy them. If an American company comes out with similar or better products you can bet I will take part.

Just picked up mine from the PO, today. Very happy! Fit and finish spot on, fits like a glove in hand and great flipping action. Like the attention to detail: ramping on the scales/frame before the flipper lever, eases the flipping motion and very ergonomic for the flipping finger. Glad I waited for another scale version- digging the blue fibers. Thank you Spyderco and thank you Knife Works!

Yet, another Spyderco to add to the EDC rotation. Keep them coming!

Definitely, and that's what's making me so much more of a fan. I also forgot that Japan won't give out their fancier steel without a fight, so they'll always be making Spydercos and I'm ok with that. Though the Domino and Southard are made with Carpenter steels so maybe they can come home some day when the price is right. I want a Southard over a Domino for a flipper for sure as I like its narrower blade shape, but even made overseas in Taiwan it's still hard for some of us to afford. But again, I'm patient.

Sweet photos.

Mine shipped last Tuesday but is still crawling through the USPS. Could have strapped that package to a mule and would have been here quicker.

Also have 4 other knives and a carbidizer that haven't moved due to the holiday. It's been like a week since I've gotten anything sharp delivered and I'm having withdrawals over here.

I'll be sure to get some pictures up tomorrow if the novelty hasn't worn off by then...

The Taiwan made blades, (Tuff, Bradley, Etc) are easily approaching mid-tech quality knives for a 1/3 of the price.

Although I like the new blue weave I decided to put it back to my black palm custom scale and let the blue carbon scale go on the exchange. Just makes it simpler for me to settle on a scale if I only have one choice.

Just for posterity.

I am on the fence about this knife,if it were a USA made no question,I would order it. But China??? Why why why.

This topic again - "why why why"? Do you know why American manufacturing has been off-shored? Because we are no longer able to distinguish one country from another. The better-educated workforce in other countries has taken our lunch, but it's our own fault.

As a new member of this forum, the only thing that bothers me is the widespread xenophobia. I just don't understand it. Perhaps if I weren't browsing on a $4K iMac stuffed full of Chinese components then I could start looking down on those of Asian decent...

Uneducated people fear competition and change.
