I got some .030" white "High Impact Styrene" along with a bunch of colored "Vinyl PVC Tech" in .020" thickness from Tru-Grit.
I didn't think epoxy would be the right adhesive, so I did some research. I called Loctite and stayed on the phone long enough to speak with one of their R&D Scientists (and she even gave me her work number!).
Now I'm using Loctite's 324 and 330 two part adhesives for almost everything these days. It's an adhesive with a catalyst, which works amazingly well once you get the hang of it.
Haven't heard much about either the spacer material or the adhesives, but I'm liking them a lot.
The adhesives are expensive, but they are both rated "Structural" for commercial use.
324 "Speedbond" is high impact resistant, for close fitting joints.
330 "Depend" is unbelievable. It actually states in the directions, "Bonds virtually any material without time-consuming surface prep so critical with most traditional adhesives. Parts should be dry. No need to clean parts. Heavy grease, oil and dirt should be wiped away."
But it also says, "Not recommended for bonding Delrin, Neoprene, Polyethylene, Polypropylene or PTFE."
Does anyone have experience with these liner materials and/or these adhesives?
