Congrats! I think you'll be pleased. Enjoy brother!

Nice, any blade play?

None whatsoever, rock solid. Blade centering and general fit and finish are all spot on to my eye as well. I've only recently became interested in traditionals/slip-joints again so I don't have much to compare the action to, other than to say I am left with an overall impressive feeling of quality.

How’s the hwayl clip?

I'm liking it so far. It took a second for me to get used to when I was taking that picture, but I think that was because I wasn't wearing those pants at the time. However, when I slipped it in the pocket while I was wearing the pants it was no problem whatsoever, and I might even say that it felt intuitive. The pants pictured are the Vertx Delta which are somewhat similar in thickness to jeans, but it does help that they have that horizontal section at the corner of the pocket.

Really nice design and possibly the first ever clip that wouldn't bother me cause it disappears in hand. Only thing is, why 3.15" blade? It's a slipjoint, you might as well make it just under 3" and open up a far larger market who is actually buying slipjoints. Also 3.3mm thickness on a slipjoint? What on earth for?

I agree with your points. This is where the Manly Wasp got it right, with it's sub 3" length, thinner stock, slicey grind and low cost.

The Lionsteel still looks like a strong slipjoint and the handle looks more ergonomic than the Manly, so it comes down to style, materials and deep carry desire.

I like seeing modern steels on slipjoints tho! Keep it up!

They are leaving room to gauge interest and then come out with a "Mini Thrill" like Benchmade did with the bugout.

Very cool looking knife.

Leave it to LionSteel to come out with a classy knife design.

I like it.

Just curious why you decided to sell yours?
Ultimately, I love the look and the idea of slipjoints, but as much as I try to, I can't carry non-locking knives. Some of the worst cuts I've gotten were from slipjoints closing accidentally on me. Plus, part of the fun for me is the fidget factor of a one-handed opening and closing knife, which doesn't work with slipjoints.

The Thrill in particular - really smooth pivot, nice grind, good build quality. Two main things that killed it for me, though.

The backspring isn't particularly strong, which makes it easy to open and close, but also easy to close accidentally. Even just playing with it, it came damn close to biting me a few times. If I had sharpened it, I'm pretty sure some of those near misses wouldn't have been misses...

I was also not a fan of the clip mechanism. Depending on how you press it, the extended clip can end up canted towards the scale, such that the tip is still hidden within it's groove. You need to press it a certain way to get the clip to extend correctly. I'm probably not doing a good job of explaining it, and it's probably something you could get used to eventually.

Ultimately, for the price, I think it's a great modern take on a slipjoint, and if I could get myself to use slipjoints on a regular basis, I probably would've kept it :)

Curious to know if one handed opening is possible with a quick stud? Anybody happen to have one of each to try it out?

I don't think so, the action is too springy and stiff and half stop is hard. At least on mine anyway.

This isn't my first slipjoint, but, its the first slipjoint I actually carry. For me, the clip works well and is very intuitive, in fact, better than expected. I agree that it is lacking the fidget factor since you got to use two hands.

So is the pocket clip push / spring clip that goes away when you take the knife out of pocket or is it fixed position?

That bronze anodized TI looks great. I’m agonizing between this or the blue.

Thank you fore this thread. I was completely oblivious to this pattern till I lurked in the GD this AM! My first none CPK knife purchase of this 2020 a year which I promised to myself to be more frugal with knife purchases

FWIW, I went with the natural Ti variant from GPK (no sales tax to Cali in this day and age was a nice bonus too). I almost pulled the trigger on a KC exclusive Shaman (Rex45 & that fake rosewood thang) only a few days ago but decided against it since I already own the CF/S90V in that pattern, so I am glad that I went with this one instead.

The above commentary is OT, my worthless opinion and comparing apples to figs but there it is :P
