New Lionsteel knife: M4

Could not help myself... I've got a cocobolo one headed my way. More thoughts once I get it, but it seems like a real good deal for a knife that is also a work of art...

Just ordered a cocobolo version as well
excited to get such a nice knife

Just got in my M4 in walnut today. Sorry. No pics yet. But wanted to say, why do people buy other brands of knives? My Lionsteel knives are all AWESOME, the M4 included.

It's obvious that you are very interested in the M4.

Get one!
True! im saving for it, but ill have to make some kind of EDC sheath for it.

Cant decide if this or bradfords guardian 3

Just got the M4 G10 model from CollectorKnives, beautiful!
Btw I really prefer the leather sheath with the G10.

$121 @ CK is an absolute steal. I'm debating about buying a second just for the hell of it. M390 at a budget price.

I have my eye on the M4.
Got the M2 and M3, so the M4 would be a nice addition.

However, I do wonder about one thing:
You market it as a Bushcraft style knife, yet to the best of my knowledge, it has a rounded spine.
What are the thoughts about that?
On a bushcraftstyle knife I would prefer a 90 degree spine for striking a ferrorod and for scrapings of wood.

I would appreciate a good honest review from someone who has used the M4. It is in the running for next years deer field knife.

Curious as to how the wood handles held up to water/blood? Anyone use the M4 to field dress any larger animanls? How did it grip in the process?

Not concerned about bushcraft opinions.

Thanks

Should pair well with the Lion Steel Round Headed Barlow on the way.

Edit: Well Collectorknives just had at to good of a price. I went with an Olive wood.

Please let us know how you like it.

I'm not much of a fixed blade guy, but the Olive M4 keeps calling to me for some reason. I'm a sucker for a good looking blonde.

Sorry for the rushed pics. I just got in in today. I'll post some thoughts later.

I really like the M4....so far. I haven't had a chance to use it but here are some first impressions.

Overall size for what I was looking for is near perfect. I wanted something that could handle chores around a campfire, but hold an edge to field dress a deer.

Ive read some do not like the rounded spine, but I actually do. There is enough enough to get a spark but the spine being rounded feels better to a hard thumb press. The edge came hair popping. The texture to the handle creates a warmth to the grip. The G10 version probably provides a better grip, but I like the warmth to the wood aesthetically. The G10 is more tactical imo, I may have to get one in G10 as well.

As of now my only concern is the blade height. It is not nearly as high as in other LS models but we'll see how it feels later. The thickness to the blade may be a tad thick for a perfect field dress knife but I wanted a knife that would hold up to more if needed. We'll see if it works out.

Collectorknives has this as a 9 out of a 10 and I would certainly agree. Here some odd pics to give an idea. I wear a medium glove.

M390 For under $125 shipped, this a great buy imo.

The US prices are so unfair, i cant find it under 150€ in europe, where its made.

Really nice pictures! Im looking forward to you showing us how it holds up in use.
