I just received an brand new OD M6 on trade. I was completely turned off by Busse and their offspring when they turned to their new manufacture and sales strategy. I will probably never, under any circumstances, purchase a new Busse/Swamp Rat/Scrap yard direct from the company again just because I don't like the way they do business anymore, BUT I will say that this is an incredible knife!
I was buying and using Busses years ago before anyone knew who they were and this is one of the best. It's just too bad you just can't call up and order knives from them anymore. I thought the whole point of Swamp Rat was to be a more affordable more available version of Busse. Affordable, yes. Available, hardly.
Anyway, sorry for the rant. The knife rocks! Keep it up Swamp Rat! I hope one day you'll start selling knives again.

The M6 is a Kickin' Knife,
I love it when they stick the SR101 in a vice and crank it into a U with a cheater bar:thumbup::thumbup:
Then it springs back to true with a snap....

I have never had any trouble loading up on Rats:confused::D

It may not be a problem with accessibility but instead the markups...

If you could call the shop and order a couple of "standard" items whenever you wanted to, there would be a lot less variety in the knives available from these three companies.

I like the fact that they can do production runs of individual knives at once, and sell those, then move on to something new. It gives us the opportunity to get a lot of different cool stuff.

The business model can be a little goofy, and certainly some of the silly games have annoyed me in the past, but I don't get the animosity. None of us NEEDS knives that cost this much, so this is a hobby. Jerry has been pretty successful with his business model keeping the fans of his knives involved and excited about the product. I'm sure he'll take a bunch of rabid HOGs who buy anything he releases in exchange for a few people who refuse to buy direct from the store because they don't like the way he sells knives.

Don't fault them because of their growing popularity.

This reminds me of an interview of a rock band singer who commented on "selling out", he said he was "tired of eating hand sandwiches". The interviewer asked "what's a hand sandwich?" He replied "its a bologna sandwich without the bread, because you can't afford the bread!"
