My first two folders, 3/16 stock of S30V blades. 4 1/4 inch blade on the larger knife and 3 3/4 inch blade on the smaller.

I personally don't care for the wire cutter on the large knife, but I like the overall look of the knife. I quite like the smaller Banshees. The small fighter is another nice one. I can't quite put my finger on why, but the design of the folders leaves me a little cold. They look to be well made though.

Edited to make my thoughts a little clearer.

I absolutely love the blade on the folders, what would one call that a recurved spear point?

A wood or other material inlay would make those beautiful.

I second the need for prices and a web site. That banshee looks great. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Andrew, Iam trying to make what I like and not have it look like evryone else's.

Look great to me, but I agree that something doesn't seem quite right yet on the folders(still way better than I could do, so please don't take it as an insult. :) )

How does stellite hold up on the bigger fixed blades? I don't ahve any stellite blades yet, and have never really heard anything on it's durability in larger blades, only seen it in small neck knives/small folders, which are gonna be pretty much straight slicing, not much in way of sideways torque.

Matt, I hope I did not appear to be too critical, I did not mean to be. The work that I see from you here shows tremendous potential. You are already doing pretty darn well.

Thanks cerberus, contact me by email for prices.I cant put prices in this forum and I dont have a website yet, thanks! etp777, I have not made any larger blades out of the Stellite, the stuff is very expensive. To give you an idea on the red Micarta handled Banshee with a four inch blade of 1/8 stock, the steel alone just for that knife cost me $70, just under $300 for a 3 foot bar of stock unsurfaced. Keith, not too critical at all, just the feedback I was looking for:D
Thanks guys!

Excellent bladeware for starters. You have a good future in knives! Best of luck at your first show.

Matt,

I am not a fixed blade guy, but will comment on your folders. I like the blade design very much and think the blades look functional for whatever you want (utility, s.d.) The top swedge stops rather abruptly though and makes the rest of the spine look chunky. A smoother transition might be nice.

The handle - I prefer no relief for access to the lock bar. This makes me feel more secure since accidentally disengaging the lockbar with finger/hand flesh, or whatever is less likely. The slight swell is a nice touch.

Handle looks too smooth and "naked". Some sort of inly, anodization, texturing, etc. might make the knife look less ghost-like. All in all a bunch of potential though.

Keep up the good work.

My favorite is the stellite Banshee with the maroon micarta handles. It has a sort of "Blackwoodish" look to it, which is a very good thing. Damn, you are getting good! It seems like only yesterday, we were trading Randalls back and forth.

As I've I've said before, Matt.....For the short amount of time spent, your progress is phenomenal.

Very much looking forward to taking delivery of my first Cucchiara, a Mini Banshee Stellite.

Thanks Matt!
