I finally feel like I am making knives I can be proud of on a regular basis and figured it was time to get an etcher and some stencils. A couple of emails back and forth to Ernie Grospitch, and my stencils were in the mail, thanks, Ernie. I probably could have saved some money making my own etcher, but I'm not very good at electrical stuff, so I ordered the Personalizer Plus from an online vender. A few minutes reading the instructions, a couple of practice etches on scrap steel, and I figured it was time to try it on a knife. This is a knife that I made using a HF 1X30 before I bought my Bader 2X72. The grind lines aren't that great, but this is a knife I made 3 years ago. I like to think I'm gotten some better, :) Anyway, I'm happy with my mark. Let me know what you think.

Oh, I thought this was going to be a thread about them watering down the whiskey.

I do like your new mark. simple, clean. Wish I had a cool name too.

The devil you say!

I like your mark too. Clean and straightforward; anyone who finds one of your knives will be able to look you up. A location wouldn't hurt, but isn't absolutely needed.

Yeah I just heard that as well. First thing they've done that made me shake my head. Happened to Woodford Reserve as well, they just said sorry but you guys will have to wait while we catch up.

Back on topic.....I like the mark. Clean, simple, good size.

I think Maker's Mark Bourbon was pretty much perfect the way it was. :) My boss has toured their facility and actually got to dip his own bottle in the red wax.

thanks, James. I planned on putting "Concord, NC" under my name but after talking to Ernie, we decided against it.

I've got nothing constructive to add to this thread other than to mention that I personally, *HATE* wheated bourbons of all varieties. I even gave the new Larceny a try to be fair and could hardly finish the bottle.

Of course, I'm a bonafide Rye addict.

If you're near Asheville, you probably have access to some of that "tax-free" liquor; no wheat in corn liquor. :) hypothetically speaking, of course.

Nice to see your knives now have your name on them. I've got two from before, and I look forward to getting a few with the Nance name on 'em!

So if I bring my knives with me to NC in June, can you add your mark? I'm proud of them, would like to have your "stamp."

Nice and simple. I like that. I just changed my mark to make it more simple too.

I'm not much on Makers Mark myself.
Lean to beam black or bushmill black is I want imported.

On your mark, I like it. Doesn't appear too large or aggressive to me.

As others have said, clean and simple. Thumbs up. Too much is too busy lately it seems.

(any whiskey will do)
