New man on deck.

I am new to the forums and wanted to say hello to all you fellow knife lovers out there.
I have enjoyed reading your posts and look forward to interacting with each and every one of you.
I am mostly interested in folders although a good fixed blade or two would not hurt.
I don't have a whole lot to give but will share what I can.

Welcome,

Post away and have fun. Toss up a couple of topics and let us know what you're interested in.

Welcome aboard Scarman! Always good to see new faces around here. All you have to do now is stand up and say "Hello, I'm Scarman, and I'm a knife knut." C'mon, you can do it. We're all here to support each other in maintaining our addiction. Rest assured my friend, although you may only be interested in folders now, if you stick around here long enough you'll soon find yourself avidly interested in bladed implements of all shapes, sizes, and forms. There's no turning back now young Jedi, accept your fate!

In all seriousness, great to have ya!

Regards -- Shades

Welcome, Scarman! You will find that this forum will add a new dimension to your enjoyment of knives. We look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks, I appreciate the welcome.

I do have a certain "hankering" for fixed blades.
I tend to go for knives designed like the Nimravus. Not so much for blade design or steel but for the way the handle is set up.
Two slabs of G-10 and two screws. I like that. Same with the Battle Mistress, although on a MUCH bigger and better scale.

I kind of like tacticals but am more in favor of good utility knives, like my Military for example. Although I wouldn't turn down a free Commander or anything....lol
I look forward to learning more about knives in general, as I have learned much already just by lurking and reading past messages and the faqs.

So, I'm guessing he said that before his little excursion into Russia, and that little unpleasantness at Waterloo?

we get to what's really important.

God Bless You!

Welcome! Be warned, though. You're known by the company you keep and you've just dropped into the cutlery equivalent of an opium den. You'll start out with a couple of production pieces and the next thing you know you'll be scrabbling through the couch cushions for money to by that new Carson, Ralph, etc.! You can console yourself with the knowledge that they're good "investments". At least that's what I tell myself.

Take care,

Mike

Hey Scarman.....I'm in Federal Way. Maybe sometime we can get together and compare toys? I'm always into seeing knives that I've seen pics of or have heard of.

Sounds cool.
Although my selection is quite limited at this time....
