New material (for me) G10/Carbon Fiber laminate...thoughts...

1) Flat scales do not feel as good as rounded scales.

2) LVA carbon fiber sheet is not that much more expensive than G10.

Its cost...pure & simple...its a bit easier to work with too.

The things that scare people off the most are prices, some take for granted the fact my stuff is hand made and cost reflects my time in addition to materials. there is a large abandonment rate once you start talking cost, its kinda hard to justify spending $$ on pimping your $50 tenacious;-) Most people that are serious and knowledgeable about what they want find i can drive them a great deal though.

Alot of people feel the same way, its a shame manufacturers don't have a scale market as well, they could make a killing. I do alot of scales with peel-ply as many people just want a "factory" scale that is not black:-)

I don't think it's worth it at all....

Oh, wait.

CF is also lighter than G10 so it may be that.
go watch John grimsmo's video on knife making materials. Watch him hold g10 in his hands and flex it back and forth fairly easily. Then watch him try to do the same thing with carbon fiber. Spoiler: it doesn't budge.
