Ipe is sometimes called Brazilian Walnut by the flooring people. It does have a walnut color but much more dense and heavy. The natural oils in this wood make it very resistant to decay (it is even used outside for decks and furniture). This is my first knife with ipe but I will be using it more in the future.

1/8 inch 1095
Flat ground
Scotchbrite belt finish
Brazilian walnut handle
Overall length: 9 inches
Blade: 4 1/2 inches
Riveted leather scabbard

$120 ---SOLD-----delivered to US or Canada. My PayPal account is gldrewknives@yahoo.com I will also accept checks with time to clear or USPS money orders.

That's a beautiful design and it looks like you've done it justice. If no one else has spoken for it, I'll take it.

Email on the way.

The pictures are good, the knife is better. :) It arrived this morning and if I don't quit playing with it ... :D I look forward to skinning a roast chicken soon!

In all seriousness, this is impressive workmanship. Clean lines and beautiful materials. Ipe IS a great handle material. The fourth picture above, in the sheath, shows something of the color best, but not the pronounced grain, or of course, the smooth, oiled feel.

Good deal!
