  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

new materials for 110

Old school 110 for me too! With 420HC, BG-42, S30V, CPM154.... etc...
I don't want a carbon blade.
If I want a "modern" knife I'll buy the new kalinga ;)

i had a user classic 111 verant... and a user 560
the 560 won hands down for work use...
in any wet location it has a tendency to slip ..
micarta would also slip..
jiged bone, horn and stag aslo could get slip'y

a thiner frame maby or ss frame maby but ANY slimy wet location
well you jest have to read on the rubber bucky in s30v =
perfict for all round user!!!

but as the 110 has evolved it is a long way from were it started!
it can contune to evolve..
but nothing will please every one...
for the money nothing beats a 110!!!
is why i gots over 110 - 110's ...
but dont tell the wife!

interchangeable scales ...possable

First of all, I love Buck. That said, maybe they don't have the talent and technology to produce a modern 110. Ever thought of that?

That has got to be one of the strangest, most disrespectful posts I have ever read online....
(no disrespect intended ;))

Have you seen any of the knives coming from Buck????

Every 110 made (custom or factory) is a "modern" 110. They are alot different than the originals.

I believe Buck has both the talent & technology to produce a modern 110, if it can be deemed profitable. There have been numerous variants produced throughout the years. The 111, 560, Buck-lites, liner-lock, and a variety of steels for blades. I would think it would be easier invent a new mode of transportation...rather than focusing on re-inventing the wheel ;)

I am going a tad out on a limb here, and fully expect it to break off with me on it.

But, here goes....

I am sitting here fondeling a new 419 Kalinga folder that just arrived. The one with S30V.

For me, this could well become my next evolution to the 110.
I got this one fully expecting it to be a user.

The only thing I can see that I probably wouldn't do, is take it down inside when field dressing (gutting) a deer. But I can see it becoming a 110 replacement for all the rest of the deer processing part.

It will go back to the ranch with me later in December for testing.
