I preferred Swiss Family Robinson over Treasure Island personally. And I haven't seen the Goonies in FOREVER! MAN!

Sorry about the lost knife, you should be very happy with the Campanion though.

A story of a boy coming to adventure with his own pistols, pirate mentor, ships, cannons, treasure and the prattling of Ben Gunn.

That versus hanging out with you family in a tree house?

I'm taking the pistols, pirates and open sea, baby.

:D

Time Bandits man, watch Time Bandits..

It's here! It's here!

I know pics are a must, but I'm on the road and the forum won't let tapatalk post photos.

First impressions-
Perfect for what I want. The edge is pretty dull out of the box, but I can fix that.
It Doesn't have the character of gramp's , but is a beast.
The coating won't be on there long, just don't care for the stealth look.
I don't mind the scales, but will probably be stippling those or maybe swapping for micarta.

Now the sheath... At the risk of beating a dead and rotting horse, what a p.o.s. Kabar ought to be ashamed. I've already managed to tear the retainer strap rivet off after only 6 hours of use. Now it's just flopping all over the place. >:(

Now, off to go cut up some stuff!

Picked up a lansky sharpener to begin reprofiling the edge. It came extremely dull from the factory and at a pretty wide bevel.

I'm resetting it to a somewhat thinner profile that I think will serve me a little better.

I've got one side set and my hand is worn out!

Still can't post pics from my phone, but it's coming along!

Finished reprofiling this morning and put a really nice edge on her... Still needs a little refining in a few areas, but she's popping hairs with ease across most of the blade...

Now looking at stripping the blade and doing a forced patina.

Just picked up a spray can of citristrip and a wire brush...

I've got a bottle of cholula hot sauce at the hotel so we'll see what I can do!
