New Member, be gentle

Hey all
Just had to do some work here at the office.
Thanks for the information and welcomes!!!:D

The four ladies coming to stay are two 18" AK, 1 Dhankuta and a BAS. The Dhankuta was to be a gift, but my business partner wanted one of my rifles...not a problem. After I have a chance to dance with them, I'll tell you the details..hehe

Uncle Bill, thanks for the invite; you're right I think I WILL fit right in...

Roger

Welcome aboard Roger, this is the best place on the net. The Cantina is filled with the friendliest, funniest, most helpful, knowledgeable and downright nice people I have ever met. Not to mention the strangest. HIKV 4 U N ME.

Welcome aboard Roger:D

Sounds like your off to a great start on what will almost definitely be a large collection:D

You are right, this is a great place. I can't tell you what this forum means to me, and I don't need to. You'll see soon enough that it is one of a kind!!

Welcome:)

Rob

Howdy Roger, and welcome to the Cantina! Sorry I'm late welcoming you, but I've been working lately for a Federal security contractor and we have been extremely busy...I haven't been able to check in as often as I'd like to. :(

Be advised, you may receive strange requests to ship your 4 new friends to Florida for "research purposes". Ignore them. Especially if any of your khuks happen to be Durba-made... :p

Shift work, Uncle Bill. I'll be working armed security at 3 different installations in the next 3 days...I'm cross-trained at a half dozen different sites so I'm sort of a "utility man"...

(And I thought that things would slow down when I retired from the old PD... )

Things always seem to pick up when you "retire." I'm a prime example.

Not for me. And since Barb has also retired I have really gotten fat and lazy.:p  :D

Been out walking since last Friday though. I'm not pushing it, because if I did I wouldn't be able to go, but every other day to every other other day I can do alright. It really feels good to be out and about once again without frying from the dayumed Oklahoma heat And Humidity!!!!
I'm figureing that I can put on more clothes to keep warm in order to keep going when things get cold And Damp. There's no way to win in Oklahoma's weather!!!! :barf:

Hopefully tomorrow when we get out I can hang out around the Ostritch enclosure at the Tulsa Zoo for a while and see if they remember me.
I would be in real trouble if they do and they ever happened to get loose!!!!
They're great fun to agitate!!!!
I have a lot of fun with some of the other animals at the zoo as well as some of the human ones that come to be watched by the animals.
There's an enclosure of Meercats that's very popular because they are such cute little boogers.
When they 1st went on display they were advertised as standing up while the Star Spangled Banner played in the background.
I keep telling people that the meercats will do that if they sing the song.
One day I finally succeeded to get a guy to stand up and sing much to the amusement of everyone around us. I have to say he was much better than Roseanne Barr!!!.  :D

Zoos are neat places. I want to go and photograph the people looking at the animals--often alot funnier!:D

When I was a kid I used to be able to make a really convincing "tropical monkey noise". On a family trip to Bush Gardens in Fla, I had several families with kids following us around trying to find the "loose monkeys" they kept hearing:D

Yvsa, you and I should team up--they'd follow me to find monkeys and you to find the mysterious flute music:D

Rob remind me to tell you the story about the African Lion's at the Tulsa Zoo someday.
I can't tell it here although I found it very hilarious at the time.
And it was not because I was just watching the lions that day, but the reaction of all the mommies with little kids, some in strollers, starting to ask why that big lion was doing that to the other lion.;)  :D :D
