Hello all,

I just joined this great forum and have a question: I have a Mini-AFCK and want to take it apart, polish the blade and reassemble. The black Teflon coating is very worn after 16 years of use, although the knife itself is good as new. My question is, what is the size of the 3ea very small Allen screws which hold the knife together? They look like 1.0MM or close. I'd love to have the blade coating reapplied but Benchmade said the did not perform that service. Are there vendors that do this?

Just got it back from them after free sharpening under the Lifesharp program. Excellent knife. Still my favorite.

Thanks all,

Phil

All of my benchmade knives use either a T6 or T8 star torx wrench.

I have two 812's. The early version (I think made in mid 90's) indeed looks to use 3 very tiny allen screws for the handle scales. I recently aquired this one like new and never had it apart.

The later version(late 90's) uses T6. Bought it new in '99. I've had it apart many times.

Both use a T15 pivot screw.
