Hi all. I've been lurking and reading for a few months, learning the lay of the land. Figured it was time to sign up and join in the discussion.
I think I've been carrying a pocketknife almost everyday since I got my first Cub Scout knife. From traditionals to several years with a Buck 112, Opinel or Puma lockback on my belt. Then back to small lock backs (Case and Kershaw) in my pocket. It's been modern folders with clips for several years now. A Scallion, a Skyline and a small Buck Vantage made the rotation for a few years.
Then I bought my first Benchmade, a Hunt North Fork, and into the rabbit hole I went. Currently switch off between the North Fork, a HK Mini Axis and an Orange Mini Ritter Grip. Funny thing is, when I bought the Hunt, I just couldn't see the appeal of the Griptilian. With the plastic handles, it just didn't feel like a hundred dollar knife. A year later, after reading here about the end of the Ritter Grips, I bought an orange one. With the high grind and M390 steel, that knife CUTS. And the open/close action is close to perfect. It's in my pocket most of the time (unless I gotta go covert, then the HK gets the nod.)
My first Spyderco is currently on its way in a white, red and blue truck. I'm looking forward to hanging out here a little, maybe sharing some wisdom, certainly asking a few dumb questions.
