New member saying hi -- with pic added, under duress!

Hey Dan, welcome buddy, its a great read to see that other suffer the same affliction!

The warm welcome I am reading is starting to have serious underlying Lynching tones if pictures aren't up- when a stranger turns up in this here town - they had better get their pics ready....

:D, seriously, stick around mate

Welcome Dan, you've passed successfully LEVEL 1 of the game. Now be prepared to LEVEL 2 The world of the custom made :D

Hello Dan, and welcome! Pull up a chair, put your feet up and relax amongst us ladies and gentlemen. We have a common interest shared by all, be it a passion, an addiction, affliction, affection or maybe just whimsy as my fellow forumite before me said...

...you clearly "belong" here!!!

:) Paul

Welcome Dan...you clearly "belong" here!!! :D Looking forward to your posts!

Can't say it better than that.

Welcome Dan!! I share your fountain pen addiction, although I will say, it is under complete control. Sold off most of my collection to a reasonable 10 users.

Fountain Pen Addict humor (at least, that there statement is funny to the rest of us. :D)

Hi Dan! Welcome here :) It´s a nice bunch of gentlemen here... but are you sure what you are doing?! I mean traditional knives are darn addictive and once you got the addiction it can only be solved with one medicine ... more traditional knives :D :p ;) Just silly joking!

Welcome on the Dark Side! :)

Welcome!!! Sounds like you waded right out waist deep. Won't be long at that rate to be up to your neck like some of us.

Welcome. I'm too have been afflicted with the love of watches, fountain pens, and knives. It's a curse, but a fun curse. Thankfully I'm not much of a collector myself, more of a find the one perfect piece to fit my life and stick with it. Have had the watch and pen nailed down for years now (Omega SMP and Pelikan M215) and am still searching for that perfect knife....but I might be finding it this weekend so there is hope.

Hi Dan, and Welcome!

I love your knife philosophy.

...I bought a Buck 503. Great knife, easy/unobtrusive to carry, good-looking, sharp as heck...
Saw some great photos of Al Mar folders, and lo and behold one of those was delivered a few days later -- a Hawk with smoked MOP.
Soon I had a couple of GECs on the way. Absolutely blew me away with the quality.
So then I ordered a couple more GECs that were every bit as nice as the first two.
Someone posted a great shot of the Ka-bar Coppersmith barlow, so of course I had no choice but to order one...
Then I saw a pic on here of someone's Canal Street Half Moon collection -- wow! So I had to order a couple of those, they'll be delivered tomorrow.
Now I think I need an Moki in quince wood to keep the Al Mar company.
Oh, and I also have a couple more GECs on the way, did I mention that?

If you took such a liking to knives in 1979, and kept all of them in unused condition... well, you'd be me. :D
