Greetings!

I have just recently caught the bug. Tried to stay away as long as I could...don't need two collector's in this household and my husband got there first...

Hand forged, custom blades are my fave. I have acquired 5 since I started collecting earlier this year.

I met the maker of my favorite knife last weekend. And guess what? He just happened to have its mate! What luck for me. The handles are the two side of a fox's upper jaw, which I learned this weekend is the fox that killed his wife's cat. The blades are forged lawnmower blades.

Did anybody go to Atlanta this year? We drove down for the show in our Jeep, along 81, enjoying the mountains...great trip. Can't wait for next year...

So, yeah, I'm hooked!

Great to have a place to talk...

Welcome stormwinder!
Glad to have you aboard. Driving all the way from NH for to ATL for Blade is dedication.
Hope to get the chance to meet you next year.

Thanks for the welcome gents...

Strider, I have attended the NCC show two or three times and will be at the Oct. 8th show in CT, picking up the sheaths Chris Kravitt is making for two of my hand forged blades.

My husband and I were there last weekend too. Great show, not too much traffic, so talking to the vendors was a bit easier than the last show. My husband says he met you this past spring in at the show in MA...TR is his name here.

Well, again, thanks for the welcome...

Welcome, Storm. Sounds like you have both feet firmly planted on the road to ruin. Can't imagine what it must be like to have both husband and wife sharing this addiction. Good luck!

well, Richard, I suppose it could be worse...At least we don't sit at home on Sundays, drinking beer and watching <gag> Football or <gag, gag> Racing...

OOPS!! Hope I haven't offended anyone! LOL

Howdy, stormwinder ! I remember both you and your husband from the NCCA shows. Your husband got my kid a little keychain balisong, which I thought was mighty neighborly of him. We looked for you guys at the show last Sunday; there were a handful of forumites there. I`ll be looking for you again in October. Give my regards to TR!

stormwinder, you are very welcome here, in fact I'd like you to speak to my wife about your interest in knives, maybe you can get her interested. Having a wife interested in handmade forged knives, what could be better? Well, maybe having a ABS Mastersmith like Audra Draper as a wife.

Thanks for the welcome Phil.

We met Audra and her mate in Atlanta this past spring. And I chanced upon one of her first blades at the NCC show in Marlborough MA this weekend. Snatched it up, of course. Beautiful lines, small fixed blade, beautiful curved sheep's horn handle. Fits my very small hand quite nicely. Chris Kravitt has it now. Can't wait to see the sheath he creates!

As for your wife, Phil...maybe you should stop buying her knives for Christmas, birthday and anniversary presents in an attempt to get her excited...LOL Take my advice, that won't work...

Steve B!

Yes, I remember meeting all of your guys at that show. We arrived lind of late last weekend...12:30. But we had a gas. Lots of good stuff there. Looking forward to seeing you in Oct.

The NCC show in Oct. is in Waterbury CT which is right outside of Hartford. Its right off I91, as I remember and is held in a hotel, so you could stay right there. Date is October 8th.

Maddog 20/20 or Steve B. might have more detiled info...like a phone number or something.

And thanks for the welcome.

Storm

Next NCCA show is in East Windsor, CT at the Best Western, I-91 at exit 45, Sunday, October 8th, 10 am - 3pm.

Ooops, sorry for slow response to post here.
