Every summer lots of new members join up as registered users. School being out and such, they are excited about learning to make knives. This is a good thing.
However, they rarely fill out their profile. Please take a few minutes and fill it out with real and accurate info. This will help you get better answers. Many experienced makers who would offer help, advice, or even materials and a shop visit will just hit the back arrow and not even answer a person who refuses to offer the basic info we need to make a suitable answer.
The info should include your location, hobbies and interests, occupation, and age."Somewhere in the Great Northwest" is not a location, Knife Knut is not an occupation.
While on this subject, I would like to reinforce the importance of reading the stickies. There is a wealth of info in them. It will take a few days to read them all, but they answer 95% of most first questions.
