New Mess Kit

yeah, I too generally don't like folding utensils. If I went with the smallest snowpeak cup they offer, the 300, I wonder if the stove and whatever else would still fit. I think it still would, as going by the specs off the snowpeak site, it should be fine.

Then that would be pretty similar to the soloist cookset in terms of the volume of each pot/cup.

I don't know if you can call Snow Peak toll free from down under, but I might call and ask about nesting certain items. They're pretty knowledgeable and helpful in the office there.

Thanks for the generous offer Guyon, and that would be very nice of you, but only if you have the spare time.

I'm also guessing they would give pretty good email responses to any questions I have?

Yeah, just shoot them an email and ask about the specific items. If you don't get any response, I'll call them for you.

I have not had it long at all. Just got the stove in fact. BTW, the Gigapower model has not been discontinued--just the ones made out of titanium. According to a Snow Peak rep, the company phased out the Ti model last year due to their new LiteMax titanium stove. Why'd I pick it? It's a proven design with an abundance of positive (often glowing) reviews. People also seem to really like the auto-start, and I wanted to give it a try.

Guyon, just a thank you for your recomendation for the Gigapower stove. It arrived this Wednesday along with the same cookset as yours, & naturally I had to try it out today. The stove lit easily, made two packs of soup & two cups of tea for my wife & I, & did not have much trouble with the wind (gusts of 5 to 10 mph most of the day). Thanks again for the post and suggestion, very much appreciated.
Be safe.
